Benefits of Working Remotely for Companies Across the Globe

The way we do work is constantly changing and the tech industry continues to innovate and disrupt the workforce. While you work on building a new career in tech sales, it’s important to keep this workforce transformation in mind and open yourself to opportunities beyond the borders of your home country. I’m sure you’ve guessed it, in this week’s letter we will discuss remote working and the benefits of participating in a global workforce.

What does it mean to work remotely?

Working remotely means employees do not have to commute to a specific work site or office building each day of the work week to do their jobs. People who work remotely are able to complete their daily tasks from a location of their choice. Though some companies have had remote working policies available years before the pandemic, this way of working is quickly becoming the norm and with it comes a host of other benefits for both employees and organizations.

Why you should apply for remote work opportunities in international firms

  • Work from anywhere: You get to choose and define your work space. As long as you have all the tools you need to deliver, such as internet connection, a laptop, and any additional tools specified by the job description. In fact, some companies will provide you with a stipend that will cover the cost of acquiring all the tools you need to do your work such as a laptop, internet data allowance, and your work space furniture.

  • Flexibility: Working remotely allows you to work flexible hours. Of course companies have different policies about the amount of time you will be required to spend on the job per week. But for the most part, you will be able to fit your schedule around your life. Just make sure you are following through on your deliverables.

  • Expand your portfolio: When working for an international company, you are quickly exposed to interesting projects. This gives you an opportunity to build in-demand skills and grow your portfolio. Companies employ international team members because they hope to expand into those markets. Working with such companies gives you the opportunity to not only work on interesting projects but also lead some of them early in your career. This can be a great boost for your career growth.

  • Work with a diverse team: Similar to expanding your portfolio, working with an international company allows you to meet all types of people from different places and learn from their unique experiences and journey. This helps you to expand your mind and imagination.

  • Save money: working remotely means you won’t be commuting to an office every day, meaning you will not be spending money on transportation everyday. The money you save can be put towards other things like personal development projects.

  • Sharpen your communication skills: Working remotely means you will spend more time writing to your co-workers than engaging in face to face discussions. This gives you an opportunity to sharpen your written and video communication skills due to the higher volume of emails and video meetings. You will learn exactly how to communicate your thoughts articulately.

There are so many more benefits to working remotely for international companies. This week we challenge you to apply for at least one international job opportunity and tell us about it!
